〈2026 G.MAP 디지털아트 컬처랩〉은 유네스코 미디어아트 창의도시 광주의 문화적 자원을 기반으로 디지털아트 창작자를 발굴하고, 예술과 기술이 결합하는 새로운 창작 생태계를 구축하기 위한 프로그램입니다. 전남광주통합특별시의 역사·생태·문화를 디지털 기술과 연결하여 새로운 예술적 가능성을 탐색하고, 창작 과정과 결과를 기록·축적함으로써 지속 가능한 디지털아트 자산으로 확장하고자 합니다.

〈2026 G.MAP 디지털아트 컬처랩〉은 프로젝트랩(창제작), 리서치랩(기록 및 해석), 시티즌랩&유스랩(시민 참여 및 확산)의 세 개 랩이 유기적으로 연계되어 창작의 전 과정을 지원합니다. 특히 프로젝트랩은 디지털아트와 신기술을 활용한 융·복합 창작 프로젝트를 발굴하고, 아이디어 단계의 제안을 실제 작품 제작으로 발전시키는 인큐베이팅 프로그램으로 운영됩니다. 선정된 참여자는 창작 지원금, 전문가 멘토링, 기술 구현 지원 등을 통해 작품을 제작하며, 제작 과정과 기술 정보는 체계적으로 기록·아카이빙되어 전남광주 디지털아트 창작 생태계의 기반 자원으로 축적됩니다.

광주미디어아트플랫폼(G.MAP)은 예술·기술·지역사회를 연결하는 디지털아트 창작 플랫폼으로 자리매김하고자 합니다. 창작자의 실험과 협업을 지원하고, 지역의 문화 자원이 동시대 미디어아트와 만나 새로운 콘텐츠로 확장될 수 있도록 함께할 창작자들의 많은 관심과 참여 바랍니다.

A Future Creative Platform Where Art Meets Technology

The 2026 G.MAP Digital Art Culture Lab is now accepting applications for the Project Lab!

The 2026 G.MAP Digital Art Culture Lab is a creative platform designed to discover digital artists and foster a new creative ecosystem where art and technology converge, drawing on the cultural resources of Gwangju, a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts. By connecting Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City’s history, ecology, and culture with digital technologies, the program explores new artistic possibilities while documenting and archiving the creative process and outcomes as sustainable digital art assets.

The program consists of three interconnected labs: Project Lab (Creative Production), Research Lab (Documentation & Interpretation), and Citizen & Youth Lab (Public Engagement & Outreach), providing comprehensive support throughout the creative process. In particular, the Project Lab serves as an incubation program that discovers interdisciplinary digital art projects utilizing emerging technologies and supports participants in developing ideas into completed artworks. Selected participants will receive production grants, expert mentoring, and technical support. The creative process and technical implementation will also be systematically documented and archived to contribute to Jeonnam-Gwangju’s digital art ecosystem.

The Gwangju Media Art Platform (G.MAP) aims to establish itself as a creative platform connecting art, technology, and local communities. We warmly invite artists and creative teams to join us in expanding Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City’s cultural resources into new forms of contemporary media art through experimentation and collaboration.
